Program Purpose
Activating new levels of self leadership through knowing who we are what we stand for and building the foundations for effectiveness and productivity.
The Experience
Knowing who we are, what we stand for and building the foundations for effectiveness and productivity enables us to access new levels of self-leadership with flow on benefits to self and others. Self -leadership sits at the heart of leadership. It brings our attention to:
- developing our capacity to manage our thoughts, behaviours and actions;
- effectively navigating our emotional landscape;
- prioritising and attending to our wellbeing and personal learning;
- growing our self-awareness and capacity to observe ourselves and environment;
- living our lives in alignment with our values and aspirations; and
- taking personal responsibility for shaping our own reality.
Self as Leader leverages the six dimensions of self-leadership.
During the program, participants pause and reflect on their life and leadership, make new discoveries about themselves and from that place make more conscious choices. In Module 1 participants identify a specific development focus area that will form the basis of their learning and enquiry. The design of the program gives participants the structure, skills and support to step into the ‘drivers’ seat of their own development, increases their skill and capacity for self management and through the learning buddies and in session break out groups strengthens relational connection with their colleagues.
Self as Leader is delivered over a four month period via a combination of in- person (3 days) or online (6 x 1/2 day) workshops supported by online group and individual coaching as required. Participants are expected to establish a personal learning practice – 1 hour per week and participate in a regular learning buddy check through-out the program.
Learning Outcomes
People with greater self-awareness make better decisions and choices. This program grows relational connection between participants; creates a shared language for observing and managing thoughts and behaviours as the seeds for broader cultural change and, contributes to growing a culture where people lean into having courageous conversations and where learning is valued. At an individual level the fundamental learning outcome is greater self-awareness and movement toward a specific change in chosen focus area. Other benefits include:
