Leadership Wellbeing Assessment and Development Program (WADP)

Our Leadership Wellbeing Assessment and Development Program (WADP) helps teams understand wellbeing and performance within a leadership context. The program uses the Global Leadership Wellbeing Survey (GLWS) to measure the social emotional, physical, intellectual and spiritual wellbeing of senior professionals across their personal and professional lives. Each team member benefits from an individual debrief of the GLWS as well as a team debrief of the group profile. The program includes individual coaching, a wellbeing assessment (individual and group) as well as two leadership team workshops. GLWS for Individual Leaders:

The GLWS measures the social emotional, physical, intellectual and spiritual wellbeing of senior professionals across their personal and professional lives ( In the model this is called Wellbeing at Work & Wellbeing at Home). Designed by Australian psychologists, GLWS is a new tool on the market place, that is specifically tailored to a understanding wellbeing in a leadership context.

The survey is administered on line (15-20 mins) and consists of 126 questions across 6 key areas. It provides the leader with comprehensive assessment of their wellbeing against the GLWS Framework.

Following the survey, a debrief and discovery session is facilitated by an accredited leadership coach with a further check in session in the month following the debrief. Focus is on surfacing the factors that are enhancing the leaders well being and those that are detracting from their wellbeing and supporting the leader to create the desired changes to enhance their wellbeing. Underpinning this process is the expectation that individual leaders take personal responsibility  to enact desired changes. Leaders are supported to do this with a person-centred approach to feedback, coaching and through access to relevant resources.

Benefits:

The benefits of engaging with GLWS include:

  • Driving sustained performance in your senior leaders and their teams
  • Building wellbeing, resilience and productivity across the organisation
  • Reducing absenteeism and the damaging impacts of ‘presenteeism’
  • Creating positive action to tackle the debilitating impact of mental ill health in your organisation
  • Enhancing a responsible and compassionate organisational culture

The GLWS can be used on its own or as a part of an overall leadership development program.

GLWS in a Team or Group:

GLWS always begins as an individual assessment with personal debrief and coaching. However if several leaders in a team or a group (e.g Women in Leadership, Senior Leadership Team or other group specific to your organisation)  complete their individual GLWS, then the option is there to extend the GLWS exploration into a powerful team/group learning experience. This begins with the generation of a Team/Group GLWS derived from the individual group report.

The team/group application of the GLWS will help you to identify the common themes affecting the team’s wellbeing positively and negatively, and discuss and decide on appropriate actions to address any priorities. You can also identify areas of difference in the team’s experience – what may be enhancing wellbeing for one individual may be simultaneously detracting from wellbeing for another. How the team leader’s behaviour is impacting team wellbeing is also explored constructively. This exploration of wellbeing brings to the surface the individual factors that may be driving performance and engagement and enhancing or detracting from the ‘culture’ of the team/group.

Does this sound familiar?

  • Is your leadership team experiencing high workloads, ongoing pressure to deliver and a constant sense of ‘there never being enough hours in the day’?
  • Are there challenging interpersonal dynamics within your team or with key stakeholders that are creating stress and strain for the team?
  • Does the team feel on the ‘outer’ in the organisation, sidelined and possibly under-valued, or under-utilised in the present context?
  • Is the pace of organisational change affecting your team’s motivation and ability to perform?
  • Are there high levels of ill-health, sick days, stress leave in the team, or does everyone just look like they need a long holiday?

Achieving a deeper understanding about what impacts the wellbeing of team members and taking action to support this through a wellbeing assessment and development program, will result in higher motivation, morale, and performance.

What’s involved in a GLWS Leadership Team Assessment?

The learning journey for the team/group typically involves a full day followed by a ½ day workshop customised to the specific development requirements of the group (in addition to the individual debriefing and coaching for each leader as part of the individual GLWS assessment process). Leadership Wellbeing Assessment and Development Program (WADP)
