About:

The Leadership Circle Profile  is designed to accelerate leadership effectiveness beyond traditional competency-based approaches. It is the only 360 degree competency assessment that simultaneously provides focused competency feedback while revealing the underlying assumptions that are causing a leader’s pattern of strengths and limitations.

The Leadership Circle Profile  helps leaders understand the relationship between how they habitually think, how they behave, and, more importantly, how all this impacts their current level of leadership effectiveness. Once this awareness is established, leadership development can proceed. Without it, change rarely happens.

What it Measures:

Creative Dimension

The Creative Dimension measures key behaviours and internal assumptions that lead to high fulfilment, high achievement leadership. There are five aspects to the Creative Dimension (shown in the inner circle) each of which is made up of competencies (shown in the outer circle).

The five aspects of the Creative Dimension are:

Relating – Your capability to relate to others in a way that brings out the best in people, groups, and organizations.

Self-Awareness – Your orientation to ongoing professional and personal development, as well as

the degree to which inner self-awareness is expressed through balanced perspective, insight, and high

integrity leadership.

Authenticity – The degree to which you walk your talk, keep your commitments, communicate

courageously, and lead with integrity.

Systems Awareness – The degree to which your awareness is focused on whole system improvement and on community welfare.

Achieving- The extent to which you offer visionary, purposeful and high achievement leadership.

Reactive Dimension

The lower half of the circle maps the self-limiting Reactive assumptions and behaviours. The Reactive dimensions reflect inner beliefs that limit effectiveness, authentic expression, and empowering leadership. These assumptions translate into reactive, counter-productive leadership styles. There are three dimensions(shown in the inner circle) each of which is made up of reactive tendencies (shown in the outer circle). The three Reactive Dimensions are:

Complying –The extent to which you form your sense of self out of what others expect of you rather than what you intend and want.

Protecting –The belief that you can protect yourself and establish a sense of worth through withdrawal, remaining distant, hidden, aloof, cynical, and/or rational.

Controlling – The extent to which you establish a sense of personal worth through task accomplishment and personal achievement.

What’s involved?

The process involves selecting the people to complete the survey (peers, direct reports, manager and manager’s manager) and completing your self –assessment. You attend an initial 2 hour debrief session where you are provided with a comprehensive report and a follow up 2 hour development planning session. Ongoing leadership coaching is optional.
